DESCRIPTION
The intricacies of working with architecturally exposed copper panels presents many challenges. At the time we were awarded this project, copper coil available for architectural purposes was near impossible to source in a timely manner. Through our network of industry contacts, we were able to overcome this supply chain issue, and complete the project to the satisfaction of the owner. In addition to sourcing problems, installing a soft metal such as copper also presents its own issues. Significant care must be taken when handling the product, as it is easily dented, creased, or scratched. Given the expertise and attention to detail of our installation team, we were able provide a quality copper façade without damage or blemish. Finally, the custom layout of the design, and precise dimensioning required to ensure the material was fabricated to suit as-built conditions was a challenge in and of itself. The difficulty of sourcing the material meant there was zero room for error when determining panel dimensions. Through a quality and precise pre-layout by our field personnel, we avoided any mis-fabrications or reorder of materials.
